Shirley is a privately owned family home and working farm, lived in by the 11th and 12th generations of the family.

Shirley is open to the public on designated dates posted on the calendar or by advanced reservations for groups of 8 or more. When Shirley is closed to the public, this includes the property and grounds.

Donations help the foundation further its mission to preserve, protect, and pass on Shirley’s history of the indigenous, the settlers, the indentured, and the enslaved for future generations. Self-Guided Grounds Only Admission

Self-guided grounds-only admission includes exhibits inside the Ice House and the Storehouse, the slavery exhibit located in the Kitchen Building, our Nature Walk Field Guide and Grounds Map, and the walking audio tour.

Military/Veterans: $9.50

Youth (7-16)/Student: $7.50

Visitors may take photographs or make illustrations of the buildings and grounds of Shirley for personal use only. Photography and illustration are not allowed inside the Great House. Commercial uses of photographs or illustrations are prohibited without express written consent. By entering Shirley’s property you agree to these terms.

Leashed pets are allowed in the visitor parking lot area. Service animals are allowed beyond the visitor parking lot.

Smoking is permitted in the visitor parking lot next to the “smoker oasis cans” and inside vehicles.
